1933CHICAGO WORLD'S FAIR
TAPESTRY! Fresh from an estate, an amazing
souvenir from the 1933 Chicago World's Fair.
The motto for this fair was the Century of
Progress, and the fair was held in Chicago
Il in the years. 1933-1934. The tapestry
features and ariel view of the fair with the
Sky Ride, blimps, airplane etc. It has a
velveteen look and the sheen of the velvet
shows reflection of the light in the
pictures. The heavy tapestry measures 44"
long overall including the fring,. 25"
across. It is in good condition overall with
no major damage. No holes or tears, fring
intact. Lite signs of its age can be seen
but does not detract from its overall
display quality. It does have a lite musty
odor from many years of storage. Take a look
below. This is one of the early tapestries
that was produced for the fair, it does not
have the title across the bottom as the
later ones did. A rare find and a great
addition to your collection. $155.00

This
is an original solid brass metal letter
opener from an estate. It was a premium
from the "PAN AMERICAN EXPOSITION", more
popularly known as the 1901 Worlds Fair
that was held in Buffalo, New York from
May 01, 1901 through November 02,
1901. Standing atop the 5 5/8" tall
blade and pedestal, is a 1 1/8" tall, 1
1/2" wide, and 1/2" sculpture of a
buffalo. Engraved on one side of the
blade, "PAN=AMERICAN". On the other
side of the blade, in large engraved
numbers is "1901". Imprinted
near the top of the blade it states,
"PAT. MAY 14 1901". This
letter opener does have a slightly
misshapened blade, (some waves). Could be
flattened out, but I prefer the original
state for its character. |
